Assessment Criteria

The Brief

Prelim task - In the opening sequence of our film we are to include the following types of editing; Match on Action, and shot reverse shot and 180 degree rule within a conversation. 

     Main task - Produce the opening sequence of a film lasting no longer than two minutes.


The coursework is worth 50% of the AS and the marking is divided into 3 sections:
RESEARCH AND PLANNING: 20%
PRODUCTION: 60%
EVALUATION: 20%


The DVD of the finished product and the blog are marked on approach and level of organisation.




Evaluation

These are the seven questions that need to be included in the evaluation:



- In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?


- How does your media product represent particular social groups?


- What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why? 


- Who would be the audience for your media product? 


- How did you attract/address your audience?


- What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product? 


- Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full  product?


The Assessment Criteria

Each section of the coursework will be marked as one of the following:



- Minimal
- Basic
- Proficient 
- Excellent
